Sightseeing – Granitz

Between 1836 and 1846, the hunting lodge Granitz was built by prince Wilhelm Malte zu Putbus on the Tempelberg, the highest point in Rügen's Southeast. The fortress-like "Schloss" was designed in classicistic style and consists of four small corner towers with a middle tower (38m high). Cast iron winding stairs lead to a panorama platform which is 145m high and offers a fantastic view of the Granitz region, the peninsula Mönchgut and Arkona.
