BinzThe attractiveness of this sea resort on the island Rügen is particularly due to its scenic beauty. In the Northeast is the sea with a broad and long sandy beach. The hilly forest area of Granitz with its picturesque cliffs is in Eastern direction and extends up to the neighbouring community of Sellin. The resort is surrounded by Schmale Heide (literally „narrow heath“) with its pine woods in the Northwest and by the banks of the Schmachter Lake in the Southeast. These features are complemented by a broad and generous beach promenade of 6 km’s length lined by houses built at the turn of the last century.
